Love the outfit. Love the hair.
But omg, Rose McGowan what have you done to your face?
She steals designs.
Apparently the infamous pom-pom dress that I expressed deep intense hatred for not 5 minutes ago was a stolen idea.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Who would steal an idea like that? It’s not revolutionary, it’s not fashionable and it doesn’t make sense.” But that’s not the point. The point here, is that up and comer Jessica Rogers had a dream, a dream to be a fashion designer. She had a vision and she was building her vision, pursuing her dreams and Miss Minaj crushed them with her giant, fake, bee-hive weave.
The story here is that, Rogers has been making these “Puffball” dresses for 3 years now. She’s producing them under the name, “SomedayNewYorker”. They’re her life. She has been chasing down contacts, chasing down celebrities and trying to make it in the fashion world for the past three years with these dresses. The worst part about the story, is she had even approached Minaj about wearing her dresses, and eagerly sent her stylists pictures of the designs and never heard back.
You know, until she saw a picture of Minaj’s dress on the internet.
She contacted Minaj’s people and told them the situation, offering to send them one of her own creations to make up for the infamous “Puffball” dress.
The icing on the cake for Rogers was when she saw Minaj describing her outfit as a “Puffball” dress, when Rogers claims to have coined the term.
Ugh.
Rogers has been put down, and beaten down by Minaj’s people, even experiencing a verbal berating from one of Minaj’s ex-stylists. She was told, “that it’s a small community and I better watch what I say.” (DAILYMAIL)
I’m disgusted at everything to do with this story, except the young designer herself.

Now correct me if I’m wrong but I feel as though there are certain etiquette rules that you abide by when you’re invited to sit FRONT ROW at a show during Fashion Week.
One of them (and this is my opinion) is that you wear the designer’s work. If you’re not going to wear the designer’s work, then you wear something low key, that at least LOOKS like it.
This is NOT ok.

Not only is she front row at a Carolina Herrara fashion show during Fashion Week, but she is also sitting next to one of the most influential voices in the fashion industry (who is being a respectful guest and WEARING THE DESIGNS).
Honestly, I look at this and see Nicki Minaj not making an effort. You were invited to sit in one of the most visible seats in the house and you wore a pom-pom dress. A pom-pom dress to a CAROLINA HERRARA show. Someone who’s designs embody elegance and class.
This makes me angry. I know that celebrities are entitled to wear what they want and are in fact encouraged to show off their style when they attend shows. But I believe that you can show off your style in a more subdued and respectful manner.
This get-up is ok at a Betsey Johnson show, because Johnson’s aesthetic MATCHES Minaj’s.
This is a disgrace.
I officially hate Nicki Minaj.
